Our Sacred Journey Across the Tasman
Feb 27, 2025On February 18 our mission began in Christchurch where we collected our hire car, a silver Toyota Hybrid sedan, and travelled to a nearby suburb to meet up and have dinner with one of Corn’s brothers, Ian, and his lovely family. It was wonderful to see the two brothers pick up where they had left several years ago as if they had seen each other yesterday and to hear stories of how they grew up together.
The day after our arrival, Sunday February 19, Corn and I rose early and travelled to Castle Hill to meet up with one of his old friends with whom he had taken a crystal mission, the Trail of the Hawk, across Hopi lands with thirty three years ago. Corn’s long-time friend is Barry Brailsford is a renowned teacher and author of ancient and local history and in 1988 Barry was approached by Waitaha grandmothers and asked to assist in the in the re-opening of the Greenstone Trail across the alps of the south island. This Pounamu Greenstone trading trail had been closed for 100 years because there had been ‘blood spilt’ on the trail when gold miners attacked the peace people of Waitaha. Waitaha being the original tribe of Aotearoa, whom some of you may not know existed.
The Peace Trail gathering that we were there to support was located over several of the main landmarks of the original trail and we managed to go to three of these landmarks and offer prayers and blessings for safe passage before the Peace Trail walk began across the land. Castle Hill was one of these landmarks. Barry Brailsford lived at Castle Hill with his wife Cusha and they kindly welcomed us into their home. Corn interviewed Barry and was later able to share this interview with the Peace Trail Walkers known now as The Galactic Tribe of Mu (and Golden Light Warriors). In the interview, Barry described how the Tapu (Tapu means ‘sacred’ as well as ‘spiritual taboo’) had been lifted so the trail could be walked again and how he had taken seven groups across the trail since it was opened.
After we visited Barry, we went to visit the great Stones of Castle Hill and played our drums to them to honour and bless them and to appeal to them to support the carriers of the Flag of Peace who would be passing by that place in a few days. We then set out to the next landmark several hours drive away across the Alps to where the Hokitika River flows on the West coast into the Tasman Sea and where the nearby Greenstone Trail began. Greenstone from that river was once collected and carried across the Alps to the people settled all across the lands on the other side of the Alps on the eastern side of the island. This river was carefully fenced off now to ward off the public searching for Greenstones, and was very difficult to access. However Dr Corn and I, led by a Hawk urging us on all the way, eventually found a way and we held ceremony on the river bank and collected water there to share with the leader of the mission, Te Ruakura Turuki and her Grandmother Sistars, and those other community leaders who were joining the Peace Trail whom we had arranged to meet and share ceremony with at Birdling’s Flat, a day’s drive away. Before we did that we drove all the way back across the Alps again to near Dunedin to visit Corn’s other brother David.
After our wonderful reunion with Corn’s brother, we rose early to drive up the East Coast to Birling’s Flat to join the Galactic Tribe of Mu and Peace Trail Walkers, led by Te Ruakura Turuki and the other Rongomaraeroa Grandmothers who accompanied her on this mission, at last. We were so excited to finally meet the Peace Trail tribe in person and to assist in the ceremony of offering water to the Ocean. The water was the medium for carrying the energies of Peace, and we added the water from the Hokitika River to those collected to share on the trail.
The journey of the Peace Trail with Te Ruakura and the Grandmothers continues in Australia from the end of March when they gather in Samford at the Kupidabin Centre. https://kupidabin.org/white-rainbow-gathering-22-23-march-2025/
This is a very short version of what actually occurred on our travels to Aotearoa, and Dr Corn and I have begun writing our second book together to cover this sacred mission. You can follow Te Ruakura Turuki on her Facebook Page where she has been super active with posts covering every important detail of this mission. https://www.facebook.com/maorimedicinewoman/
After we completed our mission in the South Island, we ventured to the North Island to visit more of Dr Corn’s family and friends, staying with his son Julius and his partner Marion, and to check on his home and land in Kataia. We spent the last evening at a divine private sound ceremony by Zana Prana and her partner Christian.
It was wonderful to walk on and create and be part of sacred ceremony the lands of this beautiful country and I treasure every moment of connection with ‘country’ and people who live and offer their services on this great land where I am told that the sun rises first on our planet. Bless๐
